I’m not a fan of bomber jackets at all, but when I saw this item in rags, I thought, what the hell is this and tried it on.

The day was of course super windy again 😛

Old money style

For me old money dressing style is a timeless classic look made up of high quality staples. So, what are those? For this particular outfit:

Number one – a wool blazer. This amazing wool blazer is from Ralph Lauren, which is one of “old money” categorized luxury brands. I got it from my secret vintage shopping spot.

Number two – a top handle leather bag. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a designer bag, but it must be high quality and modest appearance. Here again my over 40 years old bag, which came from Etsy.

Number three – equestrian style pants. Here I have high waisted jeans from Asos (fast fashion, but nice looking and good quality, I guess).

Number four – high quality leather boots. Can be ridning style. But here I wear slightly western style boots from Massimo Dutti.

Number five – high quality cashmere or wool knit. This sweater is from Estonian brand Ivo Nikkolo.

And all of these items must be natural colors. I would say, that the signature color for old money style is beige, which is the most elegant color to wear and adds so much sophistication.

Fall is the perfect time to wear all retro vibe garments. I actually like very much all this “old money” looking stuff, which can also be found at a reasonable price if you are in the right rag shop at the right time.

Here I wear – wool knit from Ivo Nikkolo, Renzo silk skirt from my secret place, vintage look belt and boots from Massimo Dutti and vintage bag

Autumn tulips

Here I am wearing a beautiful dress from Reserved. Too bad, the dress is worn for the second time, but there is already a hole in it. The difference between vintage clothing and cheap fast fashion clothing is that if a vintage garment has a hole in it, it has been worn over time, but if a fast fashion garment has a hole in it, it indicates poor quality.

I don’t wear RED

RED – number one trend color for fall 2023 – is (was? 🙄) completely excluded from the color palette of my wardrobe.

I once had really beautiful bright red Zara’s tweed blazer, but when I stepped in the office I felt like I’m some kind of target (no one actually said anything..) and I wanted to go back home and get the clothes changed.

I have done so many experiments this summer, now it’s time to pull back a little and get back to serious as the transitional season has arrived.

For some reason I liked this vintage red dress. Wearing red makes me feel like a snake crawling into the wrong skin, but I think this dress is a perfect office wear for coming autumn and even for winter maybe, as it’s 45% wool. A tip 😲💡 – RED dress might be good to wear, when there’s an intention to go and demand something – it’s like an armor that strengthens and gives confidence. So red should belong into every women’s secret weapons arsenal. But I think RED must be worn with dignity (same goes for animal patterns – leopard, tiger, snake).

Here I also have very modest dark brown western style boots, which I found again at Massimo Dutti. I really admire different kind of embroidered cowboy boots, but I was afraid that these would be difficult to stylize. So I stayed to classic, probably for many good years. Also the belt is from Massimo Dutti.

Vintage (over 40 years old) bag, my faithful companion, from Etsy.

A scent of retro

Here I’m back at my slats and presenting the retro gems which were already waiting – the vinyl bag of Jackie O (I think) and the bodysuit. The skirt is from Zara, older collection.
